IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jayne F.
Ohneck
September 30, 1936 – December 30, 2025
Jayne Foster Ohneck, 89, passed away in Clermont, Florida, on December 30, 2025, after a courageous 5½-year battle with breast cancer. Born on September 30, 1936, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Jayne dedicated her life to caring for others and celebrating the simple joys that made life beautiful.
She enjoyed a 30-year career as a Dietician at Toledo Hospital (now ProMedica), where her knowledge and compassion touched countless lives. Outside of work, Jayne loved snowmobiling, attending car shows and races with Bob, singing Christmas carols (especially those by Kenny Rogers), reading romance novels, savoring a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, indulging in a carton of heath bar crunch ice cream, and watching birds. Her father affectionately nicknamed her "Jaybird," a name that stayed with her for most of her life until it was lovingly replaced by "Grams" by her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Jayne was married to Robert Ohneck for 52 years, until his death in 2013. She is survived by her children: Robert Ohneck (Kim), Christopher Ohneck (Michele), Mark Ohneck (Tana), and Charlene Ohneck Tennaro (Angela). She will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, unwavering faith, generosity toward her favorite charities, and her deep love for family, extended family, and friends.
Jayne cherished staying connected with loved ones. She kept a handwritten address book—well-worn and full of crossed-out and updated entries—because she so loved writing to and hearing from those dear to her. Although, her smile shone brightest when a child was curled up on her lap.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623, beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. and a celebration of life immediately afterward. All are welcome to attend and share memories of Jayne. She will be laid to rest on Friday, January 30, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street, Sylvania, OH 43560.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation in Clermont, Florida [cornerstonehospice.org], or St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org) —organizations close to Jayne's heart.
Jayne, Mom, our beloved Grams leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
