Janice F. Bates, 50, Mascotte, passed away February 11, 2013 at home surrounded by family. She was born January 25, 1963 in Jamestown, TN daughter of Winona Faye Mangold & Alvin Clifford York and was a central Florida resident since 1969 from Knightstown, IN. On October 19, 1978 she was united in marriage to Charlie Bates, Jr. in Mascotte. She was a member of Mascotte Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving is her husband Charlie Bates, Jr; mother Faye Bates, Valdosta, GA; children Charlie Bates, III; Jacqueline, Jalonda, Alainnah & Adreanna Bates all of Mascotte & Joe (Kim) Bates, Carlisle, KY; grandchildren Dallas, Aubrienna, Max & Daniel & siblings Melvin (Deloros) Smith, Amory, MS; Stella Cattrett, Valdosta; Jackie (Elton) Edmondson, Groveland; Dennis York, Mascotte; Sandra York & Debbie York both of Cutoff, LO & Alvin (Denise) York, Okahumpka. .



The funeral service for Janice Bates will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Mascotte Church of God of Prophecy with Brother Tommy Whitten officiating.
