Janet Maire Knupp, born October 15, 1957, passed away surrounded by her husband Mat and sons James and Kyle, on December 15, 2024, in Orlando, FL. Janet grew up in Union Grove, WI before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and moving to Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois before marrying her husband and settling down in Bartlett, IL outside Chicago. There, she raised her two sons and worked for Quaker Oats for several years before starting her own business, Knupp Partners, a business training company that took her all over the country and around the globe. Janet and Mat moved to Clermont, FL in 2021 and she embraced her new surroundings, enjoying living by the water and the warm weather.

Janet was an incredibly kind and generous woman. She volunteered her time for different causes, including: being a mentor for elementary school boys from troubled backgrounds so they would have an adult in their life who cared about them; fostering and transporting dogs for her local animal shelter so they could have a chance to find their forever home; and taking time to care for friends who had fallen ill, even if it meant travelling across the country.

She was a beloved friend to many and left a lasting impression to all who met her. She was always the first person to check in on a friend when times were hard. Janet was a second mother to many of her sons' friends, caring for them as if they were her own.

Janet was a truly incredible mother who was always there for both her sons. Despite running her own business, she always had time for them both, and in their adulthood remained close, travelling to visit them both in their new cities and have adventures. She also loved her pets dearly, with many dogs (Casey, Murphy, Macho, Max, Maverick, Marvin, and Wendyll) and her turtle Robert.

She and Mat enjoyed 39 years of marriage together. They travelled extensively, whether via road trip or flying, and rode motorcycles together, Janet with Wendyll in the side car of hers. They built the home of their dreams together, designing every aspect together, and embarked on many projects including running their own home renovation business.

Janet is survived by her husband, Mat Knupp of Clermont, FL; her sons James Knupp of Washington, DC, and Kyle Knupp of Charlotte, NC; and her mother-in-law Doris Knupp, of Clermont, FL.
