IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane Rice
Yemington
February 6, 1926 – November 2, 2018
On Friday, November 2 nd , Jane Yemington passed away at her beautiful country home in Windsor, Virginia. Her family, caregivers who had become friends and her beloved "baby" Noble were by her side.
Born in Maplewood, NJ, Jane grew up with her 2 adoring brothers Matty and David. Tales were abundant as they often spoke of a childhood filled with love and laughter even during difficult historical times. It was reported, she got her "toughness" because she was proud to be a Jersey girl.
Years later, Jane met the love of her life when at a USO party, she met a handsome lieutenant by the name of Elmore Yemington. It was love at first sight and friends were always amused when Elmore claimed he had fallen in love because he thought Jane had money only to discover she had fallen in love with him because she thought he had money. Their good humor and love served them well during their 40 year marriage which was full of exciting adventures and which brought to their lives a multitude of life-long friendships.
Before moving to Virginia in 2014, she had lived in the town of Clermont for 35 years. She was active in her church, her PEO chapter and for 10 years she delighted in working at the South Lake Hospital as Receptionist at the Women's Center.
Jane Yemington spent her life doing for others and never asking for anything in return. She was courageous, never knew a stranger and as someone recently said, "she was always first in line to ride the roller coaster!"
She is survived by her son David, her daughter Gail, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and Noble.
A memorial service will be held at the Lynnhaven United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, Va. on Saturday, November 17 th at 1 p.m. The address is: 1033 Little Neck Road, 23452. A burial memorial service will be held at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia in April. The date to be determined.
Donations in lieu of flowers are asked to go to PEO Chapter FJ, 4248 Longbow Dr. Clermont, FL 34711.
Jane Yemington lived a glorious 92 years. She loved her friends and family and felt blessed they were in her life. She is once again young and healthy and eternally at peace.
