Obituary

James “Jim” Munion, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026.

Jim was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent his school-age years growing up in Maple Shade, New Jersey. After completing a period of honorable service to his country in the U.S. Army, Jim began a successful 30-year career in the shipping industry. His work fueled his lifelong passion for travel and adventure, taking him and his family to many places around the world.

In addition to the many adventurous moves his family made throughout the United States, Jim and his family enjoyed multi-year stays in Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Brazil. He embraced each new place with curiosity, enthusiasm, and an appreciation for the people and experiences that made each chapter of his life memorable.

In retirement, Jim’s fun-loving spirit continued to shine every day. He treasured time with his family, enjoyed RV travel and playing golf, and loved sharing stories and laughter with friends, both old and new. His warmth, sense of adventure, and ability to make people smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marisol; his cherished daughter, Marcie; his son-in-law, Mike; his two amazing granddaughters, Madison and Meagan; his younger brother, Rob; and his nephews, Carl and Michael.

Jim leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, adventures, and, most importantly, the love of family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
