James Earl Kirby, age 73, Mascotte, passed away February 16, 2016 at home. He was born October 12, 1942 in Florence, Alabama son of Gladys Mae Weathers & Emmitt Kirby. He was a local resident since 1961 and on April 23, 1962 he was united in marriage to Linda Lou Croney in Linden, FL. He was a heavy equipment operator. His son-in-law Kevin Roberts says "he was the straightest, most honest person you could ever meet." His sisters Linda Hought & Betty Haire preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife Linda; daughter Judy (Kevin) Roberts & son Richard Kirby all of Mascotte; grandchildren Lisa Osterhout Scarborough, Mitchell Earl Kirby & Miranda Teachout; great-grandchildren Haley, Chase, Destin & Noah; brother Emmitt Kirby, Jr, Bay Lake & Shirley (Gail) Newman, Mascotte.
The funeral service for Mr. Kirby will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Mascotte Church of God of Prophecy with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mascotte Cemetery.
