James R. Heisner, age 81, of Clermont, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2019 at his home. He was born in Sweet Springs, Missouri on June 20, 1937 to James and Pearl (Scott) Heisner. Jim married Mary Hiscutt on April 25, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was employed as a cable television technician, trouble-shooting customer issues and later he drove a flatbed truck for JW Freight.
Jim was a faithful member of the National Rifle Association and the Eustis Gun Club. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1957. Together, he and Mary moved from Orlando, Florida to Clermont in 1988. He was a member of Real Life Christian Church, also in Clermont, Florida. Jim enjoyed many hobbies over the years; golf, lapidary arts, leather working, fishing and playing the trumpet. When he began a hobby, he completely mastered every facet of the craft. In addition to Jim's many hobbies, he enjoyed racing motorcycles and competing in hare scrambles. He proudly placed third in the Pikes Peak, Colorado International Hill Climb, racing in the Vintage class!
Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary R. Heisner, daughter, Roxanne (Robert) Humphrey of Clermont, Florida, sons; Scott (Brenda) Heisner of Groveland, Florida, Steve (Paula) Heisner of Winter Garden, Florida, and James (Melissa) Heisner of Orlando, Florida, sister, Marilyn Cox Harris of Raleigh, North Carolina, brother, Paul Heisner of Hot Springs, Arkansas, 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. He was predeceased by his parents.
Services will be held at Becker Funeral Home located at 806 W. Minneola Avenue in Clermont, Florida on Friday, April 26, 2019. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
