James (Jim) Osborne Hallenbeck

December 21, 1938 – September 19, 2025

James "Jim" Osborne Hallenbeck, age 86, passed away peacefully at home in Groveland, Florida, on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Jim was born in Tully, New York, where he spent his early years before proudly serving in the United States Air Force. It was during his time in the service that he began a journey that would shape the rest of his life—one that led him to Jean Ann Kroner, the love of his life. The two were married and eventually made their home in Appleton, Wisconsin, where they raised their family.

Jim dedicated his professional life to Miller Electric in Appleton, working as a production planner. His strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues throughout his career.

Outside of work, Jim had a deep love for music and sports. He was a long-standing member of the MacDowell Male Chorus in Appleton and was rarely without music playing at home. His passion for sports was equally enduring; he was a devoted fan of Syracuse University basketball and football, the New York Giants, and most especially, the New York Yankees.

Jim is survived by his son, John Hallenbeck, John's wife Jennifer, and their daughter Hannah and his daughter Carmen Godsey, Carmen's husband Larry and their children Ashley and Grant; his sisters Jean and Mary; and extended family and friends who will remember him for his warmth, humor, and unwavering loyalty. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Ann, and his brothers, Tommy and Howard.

Jim's life was one of quiet strength and dedication—for his family, for music, and for his teams. His presence will be missed, but his spirit lives on in the songs he loved, the memories he made, and the legacy he leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont FL on Friday, September 26th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jim's memory to a local youth music or sports program of your choice.
