Obituary

James "Ted" Edward Girdler passed away surrounded by family yesterday, Jan. 15, 2021 in Clermont, Florida. He was deeply loved and will be so greatly missed. He had a fun and unforgettable personality and people were always drawn to his British accent and charm. He was outgoing and a hard worker throughout his life. He enjoyed talking to anyone who would listen to him about his loves, passions and hobbies, which included cars, planes, history, building model cars, music, England, Indian food, meat pies and his children and grandchildren. He had a very close and forever bond with his only sibling, Norma Barber even though they had to cross the ocean to see each other. It was always fun listening to them debate in their British lingo. Ted was born in Manchester, England and came to the United States when he was 25. He made his home in Medina, Ohio working as a car mechanic until he retired and moved to Florida to be nearer to family in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Girdler of Destin, Florida, his sons, Robert Velasco (Rachel Navorska) of Destin, Florida, Jeffrey Schneider (Becky Schneider) of Mobile, Alabama and Derek Girdler (Darci Girdler) of Salt Lake City, Utah and his sister Norma Barber of Manchester, England, and 8 grandchildren, other extended family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts. May God be with you until we meet again.
