James Edward Fahy, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 11, 2025, at the age of 85 in Leesburg, Florida.

Born on September 8, 1939, in Springfield, Missouri, Jim was the son of Patrick Joseph Fahy and Marie Meyer Fahy. He grew up in Springfield and was a proud Eagle Scout. Jim graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1957 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Notre Dame, Class of 1961. He served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg.

Jim dedicated his professional life to sales and management, building a respected career marked by integrity, a strong work ethic, and a warm, approachable manner. He worked at Macy's Department Store, Colony House Furniture in Arlington, Virginia, and Woodward & Lothrop in Bethesda, Maryland—where he met his beloved wife of 46 years, Deborah Diffee Fahy.

Together, they raised two children: Rebecca Fahy Alvarez (Raziel) of Menlo Park, California, and James Edward Fahy II (Jeana) of Herndon, Virginia. Jim was a proud grandfather to Valentina Alvarez and Roman Alvarez, who brought immense joy to his life.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings: Jean Marie Fahy Lenze (Othmar), John William Fahy (Evelyne), and Kathleen Fahy O'Neil (John). He is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be held on September 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Cathedral, 533 Jefferson Avenue, Springfield, Missouri. Committal will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, 2400 W. Mt. Vernon Street, Springfield, Missouri.

Jim's legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication will live on in all who knew and loved him.
