James Marshall Broderick, Jr., age 62, of Groveland, Florida passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in Clermont, Florida. He was born on December 29, 1956 in Alton, Illinois to James Marshall and Georgia Mae (Johnson) Broderick. Jim attended East Alton-Wood River Community High School, graduating in 1975. He attended Columbia College in Orlando, Florida, graduating in 2009 with a degree in education. Jim served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1975 to 1997. He dedicated his life to the education of children by serving as a ROTC instructor from 1997 to 2019, with South Lake High School in Groveland, Florida being his base for the past 15 years.

Jim is survived by sisters Patricia Chapman, Julia Lenglat and Jeanette Queen; brothers Mark Broderick and Mike Broderick; many nieces and nephews; and hundreds (or maybe thousands) of his ROTC "kids". He was preceded in death by his parents James Marshall Broderick and Georgia Mae Broderick.
