IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Robert
Baysinger
May 6, 1947 – September 16, 2024
James "Jim" Robert Baysinger, age 77, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born with a heart dedicated to service, Jim led a life rich in love, faith, and community.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy before transitioning to a career as an educator. His passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom. As a Boy Scout leader, soccer coach, and Sunday school teacher, he dedicated himself to mentoring and inspiring others. Most importantly, Jim had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, and he passed the light of Jesus to his children, instilling in them the same values of love, grace, and service that he lived by every day.
Known for his quirky sense of humor, Jim was a devoted fan of Monty Python and Douglas Adams. He loved sporting Hawaiian shirts and would often be found listening to his favorite songs, "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett and "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". His fondness for the number 42 and his joyful approach to life made him truly one of a kind.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his three sons, Jamey (Debbie), Thomas (Meredith), and William (Stephanie); his grandchildren, James, Charles (Natalia), William, Ethan, Bailey, and Sylvia; and his great-grandchild, Willow. Jim cherished every moment spent with his family and took great pride in watching it grow. He also found joy in traveling, whether exploring new places or creating memories on family trips.
Jim touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his faith, family, students, and community.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held Sunday, October 6th at 1pm at Living Hope Church, 950 7th Street, Clermont, Florida, and everyone is encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts in his honor. There will be a private inurnment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, where military honors will be rendered.
