IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline Anne
Larrier-Sankey
August 15, 1960 – February 5, 2026
Jacqueline Anne Larrier-Sankey, lovingly known as “Jackie,” passed away on February 5, 2026. She was born on August 15, 1960, in England to Eustace and Easlin Larrier. Jackie was always proud to share that she was named after Jacqueline Kennedy, carrying that distinction with quiet pride throughout her life.
At just eighteen months old, Jackie was taken to Barbados, where she was raised in the loving care of her maternal grandparents, Oswald “Bertie” Garrett and Leotta “Mum” Garrett. There, she grew up alongside her beloved cousins Orville, Patricia, and Brenda, who became like sisters to her. She was the firstborn and elder sister of Mark Larrier.
Jackie shared not only a deep bond but also her birth month with her grandmother, Leotta Garrett, to whom she was especially close. She often spoke fondly of the many stories, wisdom, and “secrets” she learned by staying close to her grandmother. From Mum Garrett, Jackie absorbed life lessons, Bible verses, and even an early awareness of women’s health and midwifery by observing her grandmother assist women in their community. These experiences shaped her strength, compassion, and spiritual grounding. Throughout her life, Jackie could recite scripture with passion and was never hesitant to use a well-placed verse or wise saying to make her point.
Jackie began her education at St. Martin’s Girls’ School in Barbados and later attended Four Roads Mixed School. After successfully passing the 11-plus examination, she went on to St. Michael’s Secondary School. Though she kept her circle small, she valued deep and loyal friendships. Her cousins Brenda and Patricia remained especially close. As young girls, they often spent evenings at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital waiting for their Aunt Viv and their ride home—memories filled with laughter, competition, and Jackie’s determined rush to claim the front seat, which she usually won despite being the youngest and smallest.
Later in life, Jackie moved to Boston, but distance never weakened the profound bond she shared with her family. In 2022, she lovingly hosted a birthday lunch for her Aunt Carmen—a small gathering that left lasting memories, a testament to Jackie’s heart for family and togetherness.
Jackie shared 47 devoted years with her beloved husband, Neville. They met in 1977 and built a life rooted in love, resilience, and shared experiences. Together they welcomed two sons. Their eldest son, Neville affectionately known as “Nevs”, born in 1981, tragically passed away in 1999 in New Hampshire and Akeem born in 1995. Through joy and heartbreak, Jackie remained strong, anchored by faith and family.
She was also a loving presence in the lives of her husband’s three daughters, Tamara, Nikole and Alecia whom she loved deeply, and who loved her in return. Jackie embraced her husband’s grandchildren and great grandchildren as her own. She poured into them lessons of survival, compassion, strength, love, faith and strong knowledge of self. Jackie was a leader, a trailblazer, and a woman who walked her own path with courage and conviction.
Above all, Jackie loved and was deeply loved by her family. Her life was filled with meaningful memories, strong convictions, laughter, scripture, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.
She leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, resilience, and profound love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
