Iris Medina, age 81, of Clermont, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Superior Residences in Clermont, Florida after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's disease, which she faced with grace and faith.  Iris was born on January 1, 1939 in the town of Aibonito, Puerto Rico to Edicta Torres and Carlos Rodriguez. Iris and her beloved late husband, Jorge Medina Otero, moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida in 1988 from the Bronx, New York where they raised their family. They lived in Tamarac, Florida before moving to Clermont in 2011.

Iris had a passion for music, salsa and merengue dancing, cooking, and baking. She was an avid collector of dolls and enjoyed creating items with arts and crafts and crochet. Iris was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and also attended Real Life Christian Church, both in Clermont. Iris is survived by her loving children, son George David Medina and his wife Christine of Clermont, Florida and daughter Vivian Marie Medina and her spouse Haydeé Rosario of Bronx, New York; brother Arnaldo Fernandez and his wife Francis Fernandez, of Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law Socorro ("Cookie") Moore and her husband Thomas of Clermont, Florida;  brother-in-law Filbert ("Felo") Medina of Elmont, New York; her grandchildren, Christopher David, Ashley Lorraine, and Alba Iris; her great-grandson Xavier Medina; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date to be announced at Riverside Church Columbarium 490 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10027.
