Hubert "Hub" Edward Van De Voorde, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home in Clermont, FL where he has resided since 2002 after relocating from Ocala, FL where he resided since 1994. After receiving his Dentistry Degree at Northwestern University in Chicago, he attained Captain in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps where he served during the Korean Conflict. He became an accomplished Endodontist and Periodontist, earning two Masters of Science degrees from the University of Iowa. He was invited to be a member of the American College of Dentists. He was past president of an Ocala Kiwanis Chapter and Hub and his wife also assisted with Meals on Wheels. He was active member in the Clermont Garden Club and Friends of Cooper Memorial Library. Hub constantly demonstrated pride in his Belgian heritage and was awarded The King Leopold II of Belgium's Medal of Honor. Dr. H.E. Van De Voorde was beloved by his patients and friends for his great sense of humor in his Illinois dental practice. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Minard Van De Voorde and his four children, Therese, Mark, Steven and Linda, his grandson, Tyler Johnson & siblings Eugene (Marilyn), Ralph, Diane & Yvonne.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, celebrated by Very Reverend Robert E. Webster.
