Obituary
Howard James Meginley Sr., age 92, Clermont, passed away January 28, 2017. He was born February 9, 1924 in South Norfolk, VA son of Mattie Josephine Meads & Howard Henley Meginley. He was educated at South Norfolk Public Schools, Masonic Home School & Monmouth College. Howard was a US Coast Guard Veteran of World War II and Past Master of Masonic Monmouth Lodge # 172 F&AM New Jersey; past member Home Builders Association of Lake County, FL; past member South Lake Rotary Club, member VFW, past Junior Warden; past Senior Warden; member St. Matthias Episcopal Church & member of church Men's' Group.
He worked for Pointer and Harder building custom homes in the Clermont area until starting his own company Meginley Construction.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Catherine Dorothy Fowler Meginley, 2 sons; Howard James Meginley, Jr, Chattanooga, TN & Richard Henley Meginley and his wife Diane, Poincianna, FL; four grandchildren; Michele Goffney, Carrie Davis, Janet Tafel and Mindie Bach; thirteen great-grandchildren; Andrew, Kayla, Kristen, Cailyn, Dakota, Braden, Carley, Cameron, Olivia, Logan, Jordan, Booker & Tyson & three great-great-grandchildren, Xavier, Josiah and Colton.
