Helene Kaeokulani Wery as born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 20, 1920 daughter of Elizabeth Kaaihui and Max Zinsman. She was a central Florida resident since 2007 having moved to Clermont, FL from Puyallup, WA. She entered Heaven' gates on January 16, 2015 at age 94. A consummate mother and homemaker, Helene was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was also skilled at Hawaiian quilting, needlepoint and crochet. Over the years she made many bedspreads, pillowcases and large quilts for her family. She also loved to collect food recipes and cookbooks. As a young woman, she was a USO volunteer supporting the soldiers returning from the Pacific during WWII. She attended various functions, including organized dances and related social events. After the war she continued her commitment to the Armed Services through monetary pledges and donations. Helene was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, William K. Wery including four siblings and daughter-in-law, Ligaya Wery. She is survived by her son, Richard C. Wery, daughter Helene K. (Harmon) Wery both of Clermont; grandchildren Alika, James, Erik, William, Reggie, Richard Jr and Kinilei; great grandson Jagger and sister Elizabeth Hall of Volcano, HI. Helene's interment will be held concurrent with the burial of her husband at the Hawaii National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Dates and times will be determined later.
