Helen Louise Seagrave of Clermont, Florida passed away on May 11, 2017 peacefully in her home with her husband, at the age of 85. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Alan Carter Seagrave. Helen is also survived by her children, Deborah Lambedin, Brenda Seagrave-Whittle, Alan Seagrave Jr, John Seagrave and Julie Arnone. Helen's children, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren brought her extraordinary joy throughout her life. Helen was Born on December 1, 1931 in North Smithfield, RI to the late Clarence and Edith Bicknell. She was proceeded in death by her sister Barbara Ann Bigalow and her brother Clarence Arthur Bicknell. After graduating from Uxbridge High School in 1950, she began her career working at the Uxbridge Savings Bank. On September 11, 1951 she married Alan and they moved to Norfolk Virginia where he was stationed in the Navy. The family returned to Thompsonville, Conn where Helen worked at Shawmut Bank, in Longmeadow, Mass. and Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut. Helen spent many years working for their family business, Somersville Appliance and Electric. After their five children were grown she joined Casual Corner in Enfield, Connecticut as a distributor of clothing throughout the United States. She retired in 1986 and they bought a vacation home in Pt Charlotte FL where they spent many winters. In 2009, Alan retired and they moved to Clermont, Florida. Helen and Alan spent many wonderful years enjoying their retirement by traveling, camping and spending time with their family.
