Obituary

Hector J. Robitaille of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 11 after a brief illness. Hector was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Bryant College and Suffolk University. He served 3 1/2 years (1942-1946) in the US Navy aboard the USS LSM 68 which took part in three landings in the Philippines. Following completion of his education, Hector took over the family business, the Campbell Business School in New Bedford. He was director and teacher at the school for thirty years. Upon retirement, Hector continued a private practice in accounting and taxation.
Hector loved to be with his family and to share stories and pictures of his childhood and time in the Navy. Hector took great joy in playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even as his health declined, Hector remained a sweet, humble, warm and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Patricia (Farrell), a daughter, Joanne Lazdowski and her husband, Paul, of New London, New Hampshire, a brother, Paul Robitaille of Fishkill, New York, three grandchildren, Jason Rose and his wife Lynn of Plymouth, Mass., Paul Lazdowski of Boston, Mass. and Kathleen Lazdowski and her husband, Artie McCollum of Amherst, Mass., and three great grandchildren Eva Mae and Ella Rose of Plymouth, Mass., and Gil McCollum of Amherst, Mass., as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Hector was predeceased by his son, Michael P. Robitaille and five of his six siblings.
