Obituary

We regretfully share the passing of our Mother, Heather Legendziewicz on September
28, 2021. Heather was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Our Mother was one of the strongest and dedicated women to ever walk this earth and
our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family.

Mom was born in Manhattan, NY on April 29, 1951, to Blanche & Matthew Norton
(deceased). Mom was part of a large family with 6 siblings; predeceased by her siblings
Margaret (Walter), Patricia, and Mathew and is survived by Karen (Rich), Billy (Shawn)
and Christine (Ron) as well as her husband of 51-years, Henry (aka Dad). Mom is also
survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins all who she adored and appreciated
spending time with.

Mom attended St. Cecelia's for Elementary School and St. Joseph's for High School in
Brooklyn, where she made a life-long friendship with Margaret Toscano. Mom and
Margaret remained close as they married, continued their educations, and raised their
children, occasionally taking time for themselves to travel to Ireland and Italy. Mom
treasured these trips.

In 1969, she met Dad while working at the local A&P grocery store in the Greenpoint
section of Brooklyn. They married on August 29, 1970, and eventually moved to the
Queensbury, NY area. Over the coming years, many of Mom's family would also move
"upstate" where our family continues to have strong ties. Mom's love of her family was
fierce and clear to all who knew her.

Mom and Dad welcomed two daughters, Casey Anne Rosenzweig (Eric) and Amy Marie
Boccio (Cory). Mom dedicated her life to raising her daughters and supporting our Dad.
Mom and Dad also hosted 2 exchange students, Marielle Visscher and Leanne Billing
Simpson who have kept in contact and visited over the years.

Mom worked at the Siena College Research Institute for many years, while at Siena she
earned her Bachelor of Science in 2000. Mom loved Siena and was passionate in her
education.

In retirement, Mom and Dad moved to Clermont, FL where they both enjoyed working
for Disney. Family and friends made many trips to visit them. They also traveled
extensively to multiple countries and on over 40 cruises together.

Mom once told us that her Grandchildren were her greatest accomplishment. Sean and
Kelly Rosenzweig and Gabriel and Sebastian Boccio loved their Babcha. We are grateful
for the time they had and enjoy hearing the kids tell stories about their Babcha. She will
be remembered as their Disney-loving, straw cover-blowing, funny and Jiffy blueberry
muffin and zucchini bread baking Babcha forever. Mom cherished her Grandchildren
more than words can properly express.

Our Mother was a wonderful and loving person, who gave her all to her family. We will
never be able to fill her space in our hearts.

Please consider a donation in Mom's name to The Siena College Friary at 515 Loudon
Road; Loudonville, NY 12211, as this organization was important to her. A private
gathering will be scheduled in the Summer of 2022.
