Hazel Merritt Fowler, of Clermont, FL, was born in Mascotte, Florida on March 22nd, 1932 to Rhoda Lee (Wilson) and Walter Scott Merritt. She attended Groveland High School, in Groveland, Florida.
Hazel worked in the citrus industry most of her adult life. In later years she was employed at the Citrus Tower Candy Kitchen and Publix Bakery both in Clermont, Florida before retiring at the age of eighty.
Her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her children and grandchildren or having a lunch date with longtime friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her father and mother, loving husbands Troy L. "Shorty" Fowler, Elzie S. Taylor (her first and father of her four children) and eight siblings.
She is survived by her daughters Genger Narehood (husband George, deceased) of Clermont, Florida; Gail Mancill and husband Archie, of Ferndale, Florida; Glenda Ogletree and husband Phil of Griffin, Georgia; son David "Kenny" Taylor and wife Marilyn of Darien, Georgia; stepson Dean Fowler of Lehigh Acres, Florida; sister Vera Beach of Leesburg, Florida; eleven grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Hazel's love, personality and compassion for others will truly be missed by her family, friends and all the lives she touched.
