Hazel Marie Fairbanks, 96, of Clermont, FL passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Mike Conley Hospice House. Hazel was born on May 15, 1915 in Strawn, PA the daughter of Hilary and Mary Maude Resh. She was a resident of Clermont since July 1994 moving from Warren, OH. Hazel served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a homemaker and a Lutheran. She was a Life Member and former Chaplain of the American Legion Post #278, V.F.W. #1090 Auxiliary both of Warren, OH and the Ex-Prisoners of War Mahoning Valley Chapter.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Faith E. Monroe and husband Gabby of Clermont; brother Robert Resh of Warren, OH and sister, Donna Wolfe of Eau Clair, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Fairbanks, brother, Playford Resh and sister Wanda Sloan.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Becker Chapel with visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mike Conley Hospice House.
