Harriette L. Peterson passed away on February 13, 2024.  She was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother during her 91 years.  She was the daughter of Ralph Brown and Zelba Hargrove, and was born in Algona, Iowa in 1932.  She was a farmer's daughter and loved to play in the mud, ride horses, and do chores around the farm.

She graduated High School and enlisted into the Marine Corps.  She was in one of the very first women's platoons in the Marines.  Stationed at Camp Lejune in North Carolina, she was a machine records operator.  She was discharged in 1955 and married her childhood sweetheart, Ronald J. Peterson.  Ron was in the Air Force and was gone a lot due to the Vietnam War.

She raised two sons and was a cook at various restaurants and hospitals.  Towards retirement years, she was the Boy Scout Base Cook in Ely, Minnesota.

She became a widow in 1986, and came to live with her son, David, and his wife, Lanette.  She was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren, Tiffany, Robert, and Ellery.  She was also able to enjoy her many great grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by her family.  She was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.  Always friendly and outgoing, she made friends wherever she went.
