Harriet Elizabeth Devers, better known to everyone as Cookie, passed away on October 31st, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born in Richmond, Virginia to Johnny and Virginia Shaw. She grew up with 6 siblings, Lloyd, Sonny, Kenny, Jerry, Bobbie and Beverly.

She had 3 sons, Larry, Michael and Lloyd. She is survived by her sister Beverly, brother Jerry, sons Larry and Lloyd, and her grandchildren Timothy, Tom, and Lauren from son Larry; Andrew and Tatiana from son Lloyd; her furbaby Princess.

Cookie graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School. She worked in the Publix bakery when she was younger and had a knack for making cakes. Over the years she made dozens of special cakes for friends, family members and coworkers. In the early 80's she transitioned to being a volunteer at Larkdale Elementary before becoming a teacher's aid for most of her career. She loved working with children and finished her career with Broward County Schools and Larkdale retiring after 20+ years.

She lived most of her life in Fort Lauderdale and spent many years with the love of her life, Ike. After his passing, she moved to Minneola, FL to be closer to her grandchildren Tatiana and Andrew.

She was very artistic and loved making cakes, doing crafts and making Halloween costumes for her kid and grandkids. She was an avid card player, loved doing puzzles and painting rocks and spending time with her family.
