Glenn Robert Routhier

Glenn Robert Routhier, 68, of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2026.

Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Glenn was one of eight children of Joseph Norman Leo Routhier and Gertrude Routhier (née Mailhot).

After participating in Boy Scouts and graduating from high school, Glenn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for more than 10 years. During his military career, he was stationed around the world, including Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Okinawa, and the Persian Gulf, as well as in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Hawaii. Glenn served as an automotive mechanic and rifleman. He took great pride in his military service and truly embodied the motto Semper Fidelis.

During his time with the Marine Corps, Glenn earned numerous decorations, medals, badges, and campaign ribbons, including six Rifle Expert Badges, a Pistol Expert Badge, Meritorious Mast, the Good Conduct Medal, Letter of Appreciation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.

After making a home in Clermont, Glenn continued his commitment to serving his country through 13 years of service in the United States Army National Guard.

Glenn loved learning about History, watching Sci-Fi shows, especially Star Trek, listening to jazz, maintaining his own vehicles, and discovering new things about the world. He was most at home on his porch sharing a cup of coffee and a moment in time with his beloved wife.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Family was at the heart of his life and he took great pride in the people he loved, cherishing their time spent together.

Glenn was predeceased by his parents whom the family endearingly called Pépère and Mémère, his brother, Leo Routhier, and his former wife, Vicki Routhier (née Layaou). He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Routhier (née Snaith); his proud children, Jennifer Westcott (née Routhier) and her husband, Stuart, of Webster, New York; Joshua Routhier and his husband, Jeremy (né James) of Troy, New York; and Elizabeth Routhier of Washington, DC; and his cherished granddaughter, Ava.

He is also survived by his loved siblings: Rita Persichetti (née Routhier) and her husband, Stephen Persichetti; Rachel Roby (née Routhier) and her husband, Stephen Roby; Mark Routhier and his former wife, Ellen Marshall; Kevin Routhier and his wife Wendy Routhier (née Link); Marie Ladd (née Routhier) and her husband, John Ladd; and Susan Routhier.

Glenn leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and their children, as well as countless friends and neighbors: Bruce Baril who was his best friend since childhood; Chuck and Karin, Ray and Vivian, Angel and Kitty, and Dan and Lucicleide.

Glenn was the kind of person who would go out of his way to make people smile or laugh. He truly loved that simple and powerful connection to the world. His genuine compassion was reflected in the values he instilled in others and carried throughout his life. We are all fortunate to have known and loved him.
