Obituary

Glenn Axel Olivenbaum

May 03, 1943 - July 14, 2021

Glenn Axel Olivenbaum, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the age of 78 at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Teruko "Keiko" Nakasone Olivenbaum of Clermont, FL and son, Mickey (Sheryl) Olivenbaum of Lexington, KY.  He was preceded in death by his son Mike Olivenbaum and parents Axel and Severina Olivenbaum.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Aiden Olivenbaum, Austin Quiggins, Amber Paulley, and Alex Paulley; his great grandchildren Logan, Alaina, Kolten, and Lucas; as well as his younger brother Donald Olivenbaum.

Glenn grew up in Clermont and graduated from Clermont High School in 1961.  He then went on to Norman College and Samford University where he studied business and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.  Glenn joined the Air Force in 1966 and served for almost 5 years.  While stationed in Okinawa, he met and married Keiko.  Once his service was over they moved back to Clermont where he became an insurance agent.  During this time he was active in First Baptist Church of Clermont and the Lions Club for over 25 years.  Glenn became president and co-owner (with his brother Donald) of Olivenbaum Insurance before retiring.

Glenn loved Jesus, his family, friends, and also had a passion for cycling for many years.  He was a member of the Florida Freewheelers as well as CRABS (Crusty Retired All Bent Society).  What started as a way to get in better shape led to a group of friends that meant the world to him.  His kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ferndale Baptist Church ( http://ferndalebc.weebly.com/ ) or The Ability Experience ( https://abilityexperience.org/ ).
