Giuseppe Cannata

March 19, 1935 – March 19, 2021

Giuseppe Cannata passed away on March 19, 2021 at his residence, at the age of 86.  He was born in Vittoria, Sicily, Italy, and lived there until moving his family to Paterson, New Jersey in 1973.  He and his wife Francesca Giacchi Cannata raised three children in New Jersey, until they moved to Florida in 1988.

In Sicily, Giuseppe worked in agriculture and farming.  After moving to New Jersey, he worked in the garment industry, but continued his passion for growing food with his home gardens.  He loved to make wine and was proud of his large tomatoes and vegetables from his backyard gardens.  Giuseppe retired to Davie, Florida in 1988 and later moved to Clermont, Florida in 2000.

Giuseppe was the beloved husband of Francesca Giacchi Cannata, loving father of Rosetta Cannata Sulsenti (Jerry) of Clermont, Salvatore Cannata (Grace) of Clermont, and Maria Burrafato of Hollywood, FL.  He was a devoted grandfather to Theresa Burrafato, Marco Sulsenti (Mandy), Michael Sulsenti, Matthew Sulsenti, Marisa Sulsenti, Francesca Cannata, Max Sulsenti, Giuseppe Cannata, Michael Cannata, Nicholas Cannata; Proud Great-grandfather of Mia Caballero and Olivia Rose Sulsenti; and is survived by sister Vita Cannata Sulsenti of Clermont, FL and brother Biaggio Cannata of Sunrise, FL.

There will be a celebratory Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, in Clermont on April 30, 2021, at
1:00 pm.
