Obituary

Gilmer Cagle, 100, of Clermont, Florida, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at At Home Care Assisted Living Facility. Born on September 7, 1914 in North Carolina to Charles and Eva (Caldwell) Cagle. He was a resident of Clermont since 1973 moving from North Carolina. He was a grove worker and a Christian. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Maggie Cagle; an infant son; his four sisters, Annie Sutton, Lacy Wakefield Brown, Letha Wood, Bonnie Sutton, and one brother, Jack Cagle; one grandson, Wayne Law, and one granddaughter, Mary Sue Rittenberry. He is survived by his son, Ray Cagle of Clermont, Florida; daughters Betty Sue Allen and Wilma Grimes of Waynesville, North Carolina, and Janice Yates of Kissimmee, Florida; 7 grandkids, 12 great grandkids, and 18 great great grandkids.



Friends may call from 5 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Becker Family Funeral Home, Clermont. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery, Groveland, with Pastors Rodney Rowe and Ernie Maynard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to At Home Care Assisted Living Facility, Attention: Gilmer Cagle Scholarship, 42042 Chinaberry Street, Eustis, Florida 32736.
