Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Sullivan, 79, Clermont, passed away March 9, 2012 at South Lake Hospital. He was born May 6, 1932 in Collegeville, PA son of James T. and Margaret Sullivan. He was united in marriage to Helen Hurl of County Tyrone, Northern Ireland on September 14th 1957 in Upper Darby, PA. He served for 10 years in the Merchant Marine and retired from S. Abraham and Sons, a food & tobacco distributor, as Vice President of Distribution. A local resident since 1996 from Grand Rapids, MI, he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a charter member of the church's Knights of Columbus chapter. Surviving is his wife Helen, daughter Margaret "Peggy" (Mike) Tansey, Winter Springs, FL, sons Joseph "Joe" (Annette) Sullivan, Downers Grove, IL, Mark (Michael Lakoff) Sullivan, Cincinnati, OH, Brendan (Kris) Sullivan, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren Sean and Kevin Tansey, Elizabeth, Patrick, Mark, Shane, Brendan and Conor Sullivan; special friend and caregiver Evalene Gayle, Clermont. He was preceded in death by his brother James T. Sullivan.



Mass of the Resurrection for Jerry Sullivan will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, celebrated by Reverend Cromwell Cabrisos. Visitation will be from 6-9 on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to his church at 720 12th Street, Clermont, FL 34711 to benefit the work of the Prison Ministry.
