George Henry Lewis, 95 left this world on Friday, April 29th. He was a devoted Christian and passed away comfortably and peacefully to meet his Lord and Saviour and Rejoice with his wife Doris Lewis.

George was born in Curran, IL son of the late George & Ella Lewis.  He was married to Doris Lewis on December 14,1946 and they were married for 75 years. George was a devoted Christian that owned and ran a dairy farm in Illinois, which he did until moving to Orlando, FL in 1960, where he began a new career as an insurance salesman. He was a devoted man that spread the word of God and truly had a heart of gold, which He would give anyone the shirt off his back and always had a smile that would bring joy.

George was a wise man of many talents and could about fix anything, from cars to handyman projects, you name it, but his true love and talent was woodworking.  He made all kinds of items like clocks, furniture, these special reindeer, etc.  There were many hours of time spent with his son Rick working in the wood workshop, which the both of them started a custom woodworking and cabinet shop in the 1990's.

George is survived by his Children - Joyce (Roger) Goodman, Karen (Vince) Hall, and Richard (Sue) Lewis. Grandchildren- Sean Reider, Theresa Calabrese, Nicholas Hall, Kimberly Goodman, Nicole Lewis, and Shannon Lewis. Six great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

George always spread the word of God and along with his wife said, "the secret to our long marriage is putting God first."

Service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillside Community Church, 409 S. Main Ave. Minneola FL
