George "Ed" Edward Hull, 73, died peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Mike Conley Hospice Center in Clermont, FL following a three year illness of cancer. George Edward Hull, known as Ed, was born into the Clermont Pioneer Hull Family on August 8, 1943 to George Washington and Eula Mae Hull. Ed was a lifelong residence of Clermont. He graduated Clermont High School in 1961. While in school, he played football, baseball and he was in the Glee Club and he hit the very first home run on the new baseball field on East Avenue. After graduating, he worked for his parents, learning the Water Well and Pump trade that served all of South Lake County and the surrounding area since 1912. In 1962, Ed became a born again Christian. He preached in area churches, sang and taught youth Sunday School. Then Uncle Sam called. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67. He was a Chaplain's assistant in Ft. Sill, OK and the First Calvary Headquarters clerk in An Khe, Vietnam for 13 months. Upon returning from the hot jungle of Vietnam, he entered into ownership of a third generation Well Drilling business. His parents gave him a portion of the family business and he continued actively in Hull Well and Pump Service Co. until his death, upon which he handed the business to the fourth Hull generation - his two sons. During his life, Ed also held a Florida Residential Contractor and Real Estate License. Ed was a Florida Gator and NASCAR fan. Ed leaves his wife of 4 years, Peggy (Broome) Hull; his two sons: George Edward Hull II and his wife, Amanda & Geoffrey Jason Hull; one grandson, Dale Hull; his mother, Eula Mae Hull Caples; his three siblings: Jimmie O. & Sandra Hull, Linda & Robert Hull-Cumbie & Pamela Jane & Richard Hull-Barber; seven nieces & nephews; ten grand nieces & nephews; two Aunts and many cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Hillside Community Church in Minneola, FL and burial will follow at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont, FL. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, FL
