IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Elliot
Budlong
August 9, 1927 – March 28, 2021
George Elliot Budlong, loving husband of Janet Grace Budlong, deceased, and father to Jon Budlong, deceased, and Paula Budlong Foley, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 28, 2021. He was 93 years old.
George was a very proud veteran of WWII and supporter of Honor Flight, Soaring Valor, and the WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA. Prior to his 'retirement' George was a banker. For the past 20 years, until shortly after his 92nd birthday, George worked as a Team Member at Universal Studios Orlando and was an active participant in their Veterans and Diversity Groups. He was, on several occasions, the Grand Marshall of their Veterans Day parade. He was an avid classic car enthusiast. He owned a 1962 Studebaker GT Hawk 2 door coupe and was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club, the Kings Ridge Kar Klub, and a friend to many in the Classic Irons Car Club. Throughout his life, he and 'his Janet' were diehard Patriots fans.
George loved his family and developed many friendships over the years that he held dear. He looked forward to the birth of his first great grandchild, Lily Grace, in August, and his great niece Kaylee and her family, with whom he often visited, held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Foley, of whom he was always so very proud, and her husband Robert, his beloved granddaughter Jenna Foley Solomon and her husband James, his elder granddaughter Sarah Budlong, his only grandson Scott Budlong, his brother Albert Lanoie and his wife Claire, his brother Barry Hutchinson and his wife Linda, his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, as well as his faithful great grand dog and companion, Bonnie.
Visiting hours will be held at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, FL on April 22, 2021 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Honor Flight Central Florida, 5036 Dr. Phillips Blvd, #191, Orlando, FL 32819 or https://honorflightcentralflorida.org/support/donate.html or to the WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA at https://www.nationalww2museum.org/give .
