Genevieve Predmore Coggshall, beloved mother and wife, passed away November 2, 2012. Mrs. Coggshall was born June 17, 1916 in Groton, New York, daughter of Sylvia Hyde and Clarence Predmore and graduated from Groton High School in 1936. She married Millard V. Coggshall on October 27, 1938 in Groton. Mrs. Coggshall moved with her husband to Minneola, Florida in the early 1940s where they established a business, Coggshall's Honey. Mr. Coggshall was a 3rd generation beekeeper and Genevieve worked beside him to make the enterprise a success. Her strong support and good business sense helped guide the family business for many years. She was active in professional organizations including the Central Florida Beekeepers Association where she served as president, the Florida State Beekeepers Association, where she held the office of Secretary and was on the Board of Directors. She was also a member and served as a director of the American Beekeeping Federation. Mrs. Coggshall's activities in the civic organizations in south Lake County included the Minneola Garden Club where she served as president; Clermont Woman's Club where she served as president, and the Clermont Pilot Club where she also served as president. She had an interest and appreciation for local history and was a member of the Lake County Historical Society. She once served as president of that organization and until recently was a member of the Board of Directors. Health problems in later life brought her to membership in the Lake County Ostomy Association. She served as secretary of the organization and supported it to help share the knowledge she learned from her experiences. Before she retired, Mrs. Coggshall worked for the Lake County School System as a tutor and secretary for the Migrant Student Education Program. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Millard, they were married 74 years. She was also preceded by her brother Bud Predmore and his wife Janet. Janet was Genevieve's closet friend. Survivors include son, David (Carol) Coggshall, Clermont and daughter, Carol Coggshall, Ocala. Three grandchildren; Krista (Jeff) Carter, Sarah (Cory) Carter, and David (Latoya) Coggshall, Jr.; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; sister-in-law Sara Repper. The funeral service for Mrs. Coggshall will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 5, 2012 in the Becker Chapel. Pastor Felix Ramirez will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
