Gary Richard Spence, age 66, formerly from Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, after a prolonged period of illness. Born in Detroit, Michigan to Richard I. Spence and Bonita R. Spence, he took on several career roles in his lifetime including supervising construction projects, sales, and business analysis. He was a proud graduate of the Class of 1977 at Brighton Area High School in Brighton, Michigan, and although his roots were in Great Lake State, he relished his home in sunny Florida.

He was preceded in death by both parents, and is survived by his sister, Cathryn (Brian) Vasey; his brother, Gregory Spence; niece, Sarah Thomas and nephew, Andrew (Emily) Thomas.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, Florida, with a graveside service planned for Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Oak Hill Cemetery, also in Clermont, Florida.
