Obituary

Gail Diane Hanks was born June 23, 1951 and passed March 19, 2021 where she entered into the arms of God and was greeted by her loving husband exactly 9 months to the day after his passing.

Gail graduated from Downers Grove High School, Illinois in 1969, attended Moser Business School and worked at Continental Illinois Bank in the Trust and Security Department in downtown Chicago, IL. She married Jim Hanks in Hawaii in 1970, moved to Clermont with Jim in 1972 and started their family in 1975 with their first child Diane. In 1977, her husband Jim decided to carry on his father Seldon's legacy at Hanks Electric providing service to the community for the past 43 years, and Gail stood by his side through it all. They moved into Jim's childhood home in 1979 and continued to grow their family over the next 7 years with 4 more children. She sold AVON from 1986 through 2020. She was an avid AVON lady for 37 years receiving honors such as the Honors Circle, the Rose Circle, was a member of the President's Club and received many Miss Albee Awards.

Gail was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groveland, and sang in the church choir. Gail was known for her generosity and kind spirit, a woman that loved the Lord and would pray for anyone with any need any time of the day.

Gail was born to Herbert and Betty Risk. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is predeceased by her loving husband Jim of 50 years. She is survived by her children Diane Aramino, husband Adam, their children Danielle and Adam II; Julie Hanks, her children Michael (his son Jamie) and Samantha; Nancy Dittrich, husband Howard, their children Destiny (her daughter Kensley), Daisy, Michelle, and Chloe; David Hanks, his children David Jr., Lillian, Garret, and Colton; Carolyn Maitland, husband Oral, their children Emma and Matthew. In all Gail had 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many more to come.

Mom, we love you and treasure every memory made with you and Dad. We will miss you and we love your faces over there. We will see you at the house and we won't forget the fun stuff for tonight. And we love you so so so much.
