Frederick Mark Roth, age 83, Clermont, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at home.
Frederick Mark Roth, born August 11, 1934 to Irene and Samuel Roth in Allentown PA. "Fred" graduated from the State University of New York, Agricultural and Technical Institute in 1954 with an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology. Shortly thereafter he entered the United States Army and in 1956 while on leave, he met the love of his life, Joyce Gerger on Atlantic City's Steel pier. They married in May 1958 and made their home in Queens, New York where they were blessed with four daughters, Denise, Eileen, Marjorie and Susan
Fred made a career as an auto mechanic, owning his own service stations until 1977 when he "retired". Not content to remain idle, Fred took a position with Herman's World of Sporting Goods, which allowed him to talk about two of his great passions – hunting and fishing – all day. As much as he enjoyed this job, promotion after promotion found him in the position of being "in charge" again. Thus in 1985, Fred left the world of management to return to his first love, auto mechanics where he joined the New York City Police Department as a Supervisor of Mechanics.
In 1999, Fred REALLY retired and he and Joyce moved to Clermont, Florida; ready to enjoy life's next chapter of playing golf and cruising the world with his bride. Fred was also a professional archer and member of the Professional Archer's Association. He toured throughout the northeast garnering many professional championship titles.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife Joyce; his four daughters Denise DeBernardo, Eileen Ragonese, Marjorie Steckler and Susan Ragona; beloved sons in law Donald Abrams, Joseph Ragonese and Joel Steckler; and his loving grandchildren Danielle Sargent and her husband Philip; Vinny and Michelle Ragonese, Brian and Kevin Tart and Anthony, Joseph and Gina Ragona. Poppy will be welcomed into heaven by his son in law Rosario "Sal" Ragona and beloved grandson Nicolas Ragona.
