Frederick A King, 60, of Clermont, FL (formerly Waukegan, IL) passed away Saturday, January 14 in Orlando, FL after a short illness. Fred was born on June 29, 1956 in Great Lakes, IL to the late James and Vivian King. On February 14, 1976 he married the love of his life Deborah Lynn Spaulding and resided in Waukegan, IL where they raised their 2 children.
Fred worked in sales for the Aldon Company in Waukegan until last year when he retired and moved down to Florida to be closer to the sunshine and his family in Orlando.
Fred loved spending time with his family, whether it was short trips up north to the Upper Peninsula to snowmobile or weeklong vacations to Cancun or Punta Cana with his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and just spending time at the lake relaxing. Fred was a life-long Chicago sports fan (except for the White Sox) and was thrilled to see the Cubs finally win one. Fred loved to plant tomatoes, squash, cucumbers & peppers every year in his garden. He was a member on the vestry at church and had many friends. He was truly an enjoyable person to be around and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife Deborah; son Todd (Hollie) King of Kenosha, WI; daughter Julie (Armando) Alvarez of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Brianna, Bailey & Brady King & Liliana, Armando & Julian Alvarez; brother Tom (Mary) King of Zion; brothers-in-law Don Spaulding & David (Windy) Spaulding; sisters-in-law Judy Gesky &
Donna (Ken) Michalowski and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother James T. King; father & mother-in-law Donald & Nancy Spaulding and many other family and friends. The memorial service for Fred King will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Annunciation of Our Lady Episcopal Church, 5725 Stearns School Road, Gurnee, IL 60031.
