Frederick Michael Grant, 70, entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2019 in Clermont, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Anne C. Grant (née DeGennaro). Fred was born in New Haven, Connecticut on March 16, 1949, the son of the late Edward and Jane Grant. He received his undergraduate degree from Southern Connecticut State University in 1971 and an MBA from Sacred Heart University in 1982. Fred was ordained as a deacon in the Catholic Church in 1992. After a long and accomplished career in manufacturing in Connecticut, Fred and his wife relocated to Clermont, Florida, where he worked as a teacher at Windy Hill Middle School and Clermont Middle School. A lifelong model railroad enthusiast, swimmer and bicyclist, Fred was also a devoted volunteer firefighter, fire alarm engineer, electrician, and chaplain.

He is survived by a loving daughter, Rachel Grant and her husband Michael McDonnell; a loving son, Sean Grant and his wife Stacy; a brother, Michael Grant and his wife Beth; and sisters Ann Oliwa and Mary Thomas. He was a cherished Grampy to James McDonnell, and Connor and Danielle Grant. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 720 12th Street Clermont, FL 34711. Interment will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clermont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation (https://allbloodcancers.org/).
