Francis E. Dubuss

June 30, 1937 - October 27, 2025

Francis Edward Dubuss, known to his friends as Frank, was born June , 1937 to Catherine O'Hehir and Francis (Frank) Dubuss. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Robert, and his children Eileen and Thomas. Frank's mother died at an early age and he was then cared for by his beloved Aunts Dorothy and Helen and his grandmother.

Frank served in the United States Marine Corps, Third Marine Division, from 1957 to 1959.

Frank met his wife, Bernadette, in Brooklyn, NY in June 1952 and they were married in October of 1961. They had three children in three years: Eileen, Michael and Thomas. The family moved from Brooklyn, NY to Manalapan NJ when the children were of school age. They resided in Manalapan, NJ for 34 years before retiring to Kings Ridge. Thomas passed away in March of 2016 from MRSA. Eileen died in October of 2024 from cancer.

Frank developed a love of sports at a very early age. He played softball, baseball and billiards. When he and his wife retired and moved to Kings Ridge, Frank joined the Billiards Team and won the Gold Medal in his Age Group in the 2007 Florida Senior Olympics. In the past several years, he developed a love of the game of golf and played several times a week with his friends.

He took time away from his hobbies to run the Meals on Wheels Program in Kings Ridge until his wife took ill and caring for her was his first priority. Frank was known for his dry wit, and even amused the hospice nurses when they were caring for him at home.

He thrived on the Kings Ridge lifestyle, since his routine prior to retirement was one of hard work and child rearing. Frank was a computer programmer analyst who started his career with the now defunct Bankers Trust Co. He also was employed by HBO, Hess and, upon his retirement, Bell Laboratories in NJ

He was a devoted father who split his time between baseball and football games played by Michael, soccer for Thomas, and Baseball for Eileen. Yes, Eileen. She was the first girl in Manalapan NJ to play Little League Baseball.

Frank fought hard against the return of Prostate Cancer that spread to his bones. However, the cancer affected his kidneys and took his life before he suffered the extreme pain associated with bone cancer. His last days were spent in the Mike Conley Hospice House where they kept him comfortable and preserved his dignity.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadette, his son, Michael, his grandchildren Christopher, Daniel, Megan, Caitlin, John, Katherine and her Mom Denise, his sister Winifred and her husband George Magnuson and sister in law Minerva Dubuss.

Frank's ashes will be taken back to New Jersey to be interned with his children in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold. His brother, other family members, and several friends are also buried there. There will not be a service in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mike Conley Hospice House. It is a wonderful place that provides comfort and dignity to patients at the end of life.
