Francesca Giacchi Cannata

February 18, 1940 – June 18, 2022

Francesca Cannata passed away on June 18, 2022, in Clermont, at the age of 82.  She was born in Vittoria, Sicily, Italy, one of five sisters.  She moved to Paterson, New Jersey in 1973, became a naturalized citizen, and raised three children with Giuseppe Cannata, her husband of 66 years.  They moved to Florida in 1988.

In Sicily, Francesca worked as a seamstress.  After moving to New Jersey, she continued to work in the garment industry.  She had a lifelong passion for food and cooking.  She loved to make home-made dishes for her family.  Francesca retired in 2000 and moved from Davie, FL to Clermont, FL.

Francesca was the beloved wife of Giuseppe Cannata, loving mother of Rosetta Cannata Sulsenti (Jerry) of Clermont, Salvatore Cannata (Grace) of Clermont, and Maria Burrafato of Hollywood, FL.  She was a devoted grandmother to Theresa Burrafato, Marco Sulsenti (Mandy), Michael Sulsenti, Matthew Sulsenti (Samantha), Marisa Sulsenti, Francesca Cannata, Max Sulsenti, Giuseppe Cannata, Michael Cannata, and Nicholas Cannata; And proud Great-grandmother of Mia Caballero and Olivia Rose Sulsenti.

The family will receive friends at the visitation on Thursday June 30, 2022, between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Avenue, Clermont, FL., followed by a celebratory Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, at 2:00 pm.
