In Memory of Evelyn Marie Rapp – January 20, 1954 – February 26, 2025
Evelyn Marie Rapp, 71, left us peacefully during the evening of February 26th, at the Mike Conely Hospice House in Clermont Florida. Whether as a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, or friend, she will always be remembered as a generous, kind, and loving soul. In her career and in her personal life, she dedicated herself to the care of others, leaving a lasting impression on those she knew and for whom she cared.
Born on January 20, 1954, in Easton, Pennsylvania, she was the third of five children of Kenneth Kressler Rapp and Jane Walls Rapp. Evelyn was a woman of faith, which provided her strength and comfort. Evelyn graduated from Phillipsburg High School in New Jersey in 1972. She attended Mercer County Community College and was then employed by the Thrift Drug Company in data processing. Eventually, she found her passion in the healthcare industry, performing various roles for Easton, Allentown Osteopathic, and St. Lukes-Allentown Hospitals in Pennsylvania. In 2001, Evelyn moved to Florida, where she worked for Osceola Regional Medical Center, while also providing companionship and care for her mother. She retired in June of 2024 to provide full-time care for her mother until she passed in December of 2024.
Evelyn loved nature and wildlife and had a particular affinity for birds. She enjoyed photography and stamp collecting. She had a deep appreciation for many forms of music and attended Musikfest whenever she could. She was a gifted singer and was a Choral member while living in Pennsylvania. For many years, Evelyn was an avid NASCAR and Matt Kenseth fan, travelling to races across the country and making friendships that have endured long after Matt retired and her interest in the sport waned. She also was a baseball fan, following the Phillies from childhood. In all her pursuits and travels, Evelyn's engaging personality enabled her to touch many lives and form lasting friendships.
Evelyn is survived by her sister Elizabeth Clymer and brothers Brian Rapp and James Rapp, brother-in-law Earl Clymer (Elizabeth) and sisters-in-law Roberta Rapp (Brian), Vicki Rapp (the late Kenneth L Rapp) and Pamela Rapp (James), as well as 12 nieces and nephews.
Celebrations of Evelyn are being planned in Florida and later in the spring in New Jersey/Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The American Cancer Society , or to the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida.
