Eula Mae Hull-Caples, 94 died peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at her home in Minneola, FL.
Eula Mae Hull-Caples, known as Mae, was the daughter of Oliver Jack and Annie Lena Hill of Groveland, FL, and was born on June 27, 1923.
Mae was a lifelong resident of South Lake County and attended Groveland schools. In 1940, she married George W. Hull, of the Clermont pioneer Hull family and moved to Clermont. Together they built a well drilling business that served all South Lake and surrounding areas.
Early in her life Mae became a Christian at Grace Baptist Church under Rev. Russell Carter. Then in the 1960's Mae and George Hull were founders of Monte Vista Missionary Baptist Church, Clermont (KNA Liberty Baptist).
After George's death in 1977, Mae moved to Minneola, joining Minneola Alliance where she became active as Deaconess and Greeter and married Dan Caples, serving the church together.
Mae loved to bake. She had a cake ministry with Dan to the shut-in residents around Minneola. She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining. Mae had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She will be remembered for many talents, especially her deep and unconditional love for everyone.
Mae leaves behind three children; son Jimmie O. Hull (Sandra) of Toccoa, GA, daughters Linda Hull Cumbie (Robert) of Wildwood, FL and Pamela Jane Hull Barber (Richard) of Minneola, FL, stepchildren Steve, Carrol and Carl Caples, nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by husbands George W. Hull and Dan Caples, son George Edward Hull, and great grandson Isaiah Oliver Hull.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Hillside Community Church in Minneola, FL and burial will follow at the Monte Vista Church Cemetery in Clermont, FL. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 4 to 6pm at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, FL.
