Obituary

Esther Rager Henry, 100 years old, of Clermont, FL died peacefully at Lake Bennett Health and Rehabilitation Center July 16, 2015. Esther was born October 4, 1914 in Conemaugh, PA. She lived in Pennsylvania until 1961 when she and her husband, William McClelland Henry, moved to Florida. Esther was one of seven children, all who have predeceased her. She has six children: Judith Dinning, Bruce Henry, Jack Henry, Robert Henry, Lois Henry, and Jane Bass; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
For years Esther was active in the First United Methodist Church of Clermont and the United Methodist Women's group. She has attended church all her life and been active in teaching Sunday School and attending Bible Study groups. She was co-director of the Clermont Neighborhood Center,a center supplying food and clothing for those in need, for many years. She helped organize the Meals on Wheels program in Clermont and in 1974 Esther agreed to do the bookkeeping for the program. After four years she became director of the program and recruited 60 plus volunteers to cook and deliver meals every weekday for 21 years. She retired when she was 80 years old.

ARRANGEMENTS ARE:

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 25, 2015 at 12:00 at the First United Methodist Church of Clermont with Rev. David Paul officiating and a reception following. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 950 7th St., Clermont, FL.
