It is with great sadness that the family of Ernst Howard Young Jr. (Howard) announces his passing on February 18, 2019 at Cranes View Lodge in Memory Care.

Howard was born on April 21, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland to Ernst Sr., and Edna Betz. He graduated with a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1957.

Howard married Shirley Elloff on September 9, 1956, and together started the adventure of their lifetime. In 1957, he took a much-coveted position with Bell Laboratories, moving to New Jersey first, and then Center Valley, Pennsylvania. They eventually moved to Orlando, Florida, where Howard took a senior management position until retiring; then taking a consulting position in North Carolina.

Howard was a devoted husband and father. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Shirley, son Mark (Cheryl), and daughter Robin; Grandchildren, Christina Michael (Eric) and Emily; and Great Grandchildren Amelie and Luna.

The family is especially grateful for the care given to Howard by Cornerstone Hospice.
