Ernest J Arena, Jr., age 72, Clermont, passed away on January 28, 2015 with his family by his side. Ernest was born on November 16, 1942 in Newark, NJ and grew up in Hempstead, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy & worked for over 47 years in the aviation industry as an instructor, airline pilot with Braniff and North American Airlines, as well as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the FAA. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as an avid sailor. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy Arena; children Dawn (Steve) Vollaro, Greg (Kim) Arena, and Michele (Val) Karnauchov, seven grandchildren, his sister Constance Arena, OFS; brother in law Ron (Donna) nephew (Adam) niece (Alyssa) Lagimoniere,and mother in-law Margaret Lagimoniere.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church. There will be a reception to follow at the church social hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
