IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eric John
Young
May 30, 1960 – November 18, 2023
Eric John Young, 63, lived in Polk City, Florida. He was originally from Chazy, NY.
Eric is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Young, his two children, his son Joshua Dale Young (Polk City, FL), his daughter, Emma Young Murphy, his son-in-law Timothy Colin Murphy (Lakeland, FL) and his sisters, Wendy Schwank (Plattsburgh, NY), Cheryl McCarthy (Plattsburgh, NY), Gloria Beauharnois (Plattsburgh, NY), Roberta Young (New Braunfels, TX)
Eric was gifted with many talents and skills.
He could fix anything.
Eric was skilled in Engineering (electrical; mechanical; custom controls) for over 44 he worked in the field.
He also led in Children's Ministries. He ministered to children and their families for over 20 years. He was also a published author, songwriter, and poet.
Over the years Eric wrote many full-length songs and poems for his family. He enjoyed teaching children 'why' we believe what we believe. Eric wanted children to know the Bible in a special meaningful way that spoke to them personally.
He enjoyed scouring a piece of scripture and relating it to children with a small intricate detail that might have initially gone unnoticed to meaning something very significant.
He wrote love songs, funny songs, worship songs and praise songs. His heart was a heart of worship.
He loved his Savior above all else and wanted to encourage as many people as possible to have a relationship with Jesus.
Some of his final thoughts to the ones he loves are:
"Three in the morning and I'm still awake So I picked up a pen and a page And I started writing just what I'd say If we were face to face
… I'd tell you just what you mean to me Tell you these simple truths
… Be strong in the Lord and Never give up hope. You're gonna do great things I already know
God's got his hand on you so Don't live life in fear Forgive and forget but don't forget why you're here
Take your time and pray These are the words I would say
… Last time we spoke you said you were hurting And I felt your pain in my heart I want to tell you that I keep on praying Love will find you where you are
… I know, 'cause I've already been there So please hear these simple truths
… Be strong in the Lord and Never give up hope You're gonna do great things I already know
God's got his hand on you so Don't live life in fear Forgive and forget but don't forget why you're here
Take your time and pray These are the words I would say
… From one simple life to another I will say Come, find peace in the Father
… Be strong in the Lord and Never give up hope You're gonna do great things I already know
God's got his hand on you so Don't live life in fear Forgive and forget but don't forget why you're here
Take your time and pray Thank God for each day His love will find a way
…These are the words I would say…."
