Emory B. Durrance, MSgt (ret.) USAF
Fondly known as Jim, he was a man of many talents. The Air Force was his first love and he would have proudly returned to duty if ever called upon. After retiring from the military, Jim had a stellar reputation as a custom home builder in Seminole County and later a builder/developer in the Clermont area.
He enjoyed many hobbies, including art, woodworking, gardening, and traveling.
During Jim's illness, he was surrounded by his loving extended family to whom he was always a beloved role model. He passed quietly at home with his wife, Genie, by his side.
He is survived by his beloved wife Imogene K. Durrance (Genie); sons, David Thomas Durrance; Marcus Fred Durrance; Robert A. Durrance; a daughter Lorretta Durrance Davis; sisters Elaine Held (Mick) and Edith Van de Vere; a brother Marvin James Durrance. His extended family included stepsons Kenneth E. Merrill (Theresa); Howard Keith Merrill (Grace); and stepdaughter Deborah J. Hartog (Jim); and grandchildren Chase J. DuBois; Danielle DuBois Kirkland; Tyler R. Merrill; Carson D. Merrill; Scott Holder; Ryan Holder; and Brock O. Merrill; to whom he was fondly known as "Grandpa Jim".
We will miss him!
