Emily Ann Hornbaker, born on June 18, 1942 in Miami Beach, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. She worked for SunTrust Bank for over 20 years as an executive assistant and raised three children as a single mother.

Emily was the life of the party always wanting to dance wear fun clothes and was everyone’s friend. She loved her time at Kings Ridge in Clermont where she met lots of friends, and there was always an event to go to. Emily was also very involved with Toys for Tots along with her late husband, Wally. Her final year was spent at the Summit of Winter Garden where she was taken care of and loved by the entire staff. She made an impression in that short time and if you know Emily, you know why.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Vincent Farrey, as well as her sisters, Mary Stullich and Nancy Marsh. Her beloved husband, Wally Hornbaker, also preceded her whom she was married to for the last 13 years.

In addition to her sisters, Debbie Leslie (John) and Kathleen Keyte (Mike), Emily is survived by her children, Joe Schott (Theresa), Jennifer Ford (Chris), and Jodie Ritter (Charlie) along with her six grandchildren, Trevor Schott (Sarah), Jacob Schott, Ava Ritter, Emma Ritter, Amanda Ford, and Lauren Ford; her cousin, Judi Tierney; her niece, Stephanie Stullich (Bob); her brother-in-law, Pete Marsh; her niece, Tracey Herring (Terrance), grandnieces Isabella and Charlotte Tanner and grandnephew Michael Tanner; her nephew, Travis Marsh (Nicole) and her grandniece Octavia Marsh; her nephews Sean Leslie and Brian Leslie (Samantha) and grandniece Margo Leslie and grandnephew Emmett Leslie.

Emily was a devout, lifelong Catholic who attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years. Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 24th at 11am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Our Lady’s Chapel located at 720 12th St, Clermont, FL 34711.
