ERCOLANI, ELVERA ("Vera"), 98, of Ocoee, Florida, died on May 20, 2025. She was a longtime resident of Madison at Ocoee assisted living facility. Vera was born August 6, 1926, in New York City, the daughter of the late Vincent and Carmella Motta. She attended Hunter College in New York City. In December 1947 she married armed forces veteran Harry Francis Ercolani. They lived in many places including Tokyo, Japan, Anchorage, Alaska, Seattle, Washington, Kansas City, Missouri, and Augusta, Georgia among other places where she was always warmly received. They eventually settled in Bronx, New York, until they retired to Florida. Vera was an administrator of the New York City Rental Control Commission. Upon retirement, she enjoyed a wonderful life of golf with her husband and friends in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and in Clermont, Florida. Vera was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an overall amazing woman who was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry. She is survived by her son, Dr. Louis Ercolani (Maeve McNally) of Cambridge, Massachusetts; her daughter, Donna Payne Ed.D. (Ross) of Windermere, Florida; grandchildren Dr. Matthew Ercolani, Miles Ercolani (Megan), Mae Ercolani Olmstead (Ian), Keelin Ercolani, William Kosloski, and Kathleen Kosloski; great-grandchildren Benjamin Olmstead, Elowen Olmstead, and Siena Ercolani. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 South Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, Florida 32819. Internment will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 U.S. Highway 1, Fort Pierce, Florida 34946.
