Elsie B. Vaning, 97, of Clermont, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, October 3, 2016. She passed away after a long battle with Alzheimers. Born in NJ, she lived there until retirement from 30+ years of service as an Accounts Dept. Manager for Hoescht-Celanese Corporation. Elsie was an acknowledged member of First United Methodist Church of Clermont. Her time and energy was invested in her family, the church and her community. She volunteered for the Cooper Memorial Library and was a Pink Lady at South Lake Hospital. She was a member of a Bridge Club, Quilting Club, and Garden Club. In church, she was a long time member of the FUMC Choir and the UMW Daughters of Lydia Circle. Elsie was a woman with a Servant's Heart. Elsie was preceded in death by Robert J. Vaning Sr. and George Russell Vaning. She is survived by her sons: Robert J, Vaning Jr. of Clermont, Barry & Barbara Vaning and Bruce & Lisa Vaning of New Jersey; her Granddaughters: Alyce & Victor Mangome of Bradenton, FL, Beth & Dan Larrabee of Clermont, Taryn & Mike Heinrich of NJ, Bobbie Rae & Christian Smith of Tallahassee, and Veronica & Eddie Meyer of NJ; her grandson, Eric Vaning of NJ and her great-grandchildren: Victor & Alexander Magome of Bradenton, FL and Paige & Connor Larrabee of Clermont. A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Clermont at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with the family receiving friends for a viewing at Becker Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the Memorial Service. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsie's Honor to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
